Until
December 2007 Kathy's Cornucopia
specialised in Gold award winning speciality home made chutneys.
Being in 3 of the Asda supermarkets, a stint in Harrods and
many other speciality shops and with enquries from new potential
customers regularly, the business was getting increasingly busy
and it was getting more difficult
to continue cooking from my own home kitchen.
The next step was to employ people
to take the business forward. We were given planning permission
to convert one of our existing buildings into a purpose built
chutney kitchen but could not afford to fully fund this ourselves
and despite approaching the Council, we were refused a grant
for the works.
I had a major re-think of the whole business and decided that
the actual way forward for me personally, was to close the business.

Giving 6 months notice to all my
existing customers, I ceased chutney making in December 2007.
I did not intend to sell the business or the recipes and declined
the offers, as I had decided to write a book
with the original award winning recipes and anecdotes from the
10 years of running the business, due out in June 2010 or maybe
slighty later !.
I now have an easier life in going back to my original vocation
(before chutney making) and in early 2008 started a small business
making small inexpensive websites. During this time, I also
acquired a young rescue pup, Polly.
I also make free websites for the dog rescues.
What else do I do now ? Well, in
between dog walking (which I also occasionally do for other
people) I am writing THE book.
